We Believe in Local Solutions
Our parent company, CitySites.com started in 1996 with one goal. Help small businesses and non-profits understand and effectively connect with their local customers online. Then came the idea to start “My Local Pledge” as a way to use our community social network to achieve a more lofty goal of “Saving the World Through Local Solutions”. This project benefits consumers, local businesses, non-profts and the communities where we live.
Everything seems to have gotten TOO BIG. Our State & Federal governments are too remote, and too broke. Many corporations feel like giant monoliths without a soul, as do the TOO big financial institutions. BIG is not always better. Solutions have become overly complicated at best, or corrupt at

worst. So, we think it’s time to try “SMALL”. This means individual responsibility right here at home, starting with the way we spend our money. Our dollars make the most immediate and finite statement. Thus...”SHOP LOCAL” is our first project.
We love collaborating with others who want to have an impact. We firmly believe that people have been waiting for someone to say...”let’s just fix it ourselves.” Sooo....”Let’s just fix it ourselves!”. We believe that we can fix our schools, train locals for new jobs, innovate, go green and come up with better solutions locally. AND, we think it can be both fun and rewarding at the same time. “My Local Pledge” was created to start the ball rolling in the hopes to raise local commerce awareness. We hope you will join us.
“My Local Pledge”. This is all about supporting small businesses & professionals, non-profits and local governments to bring a little boost to local economies and give small businesses a way to promote themselves inexpensively via our Community Networks. This is about shopping, donating and becoming local cheerleaders.
We manage almost 200 Facebook and Twitter Communities. Our online communities have thousands of loyal fans and followers. Our goal is to get most of them pledging to GO LOCAL...”shop local, donate local, eat local and play local.”
